The Vinum Fine Wine Fund PCC Limited is managed by Bordeaux wine luminary Andy Lench, supported by experts in Bordeaux. Having already developed a $40 million business specialising in fine, rare Bordeaux wine, Andy has all the credentials for success.
The Vinum Fine Wine Fund strategy is to seek out wines that offer the strongest opportunity for growth in value. These will include:
- Vintages which the Fund Manager believes are under valued
- The purchase of parcels of wine directly from the Chateau
- The identification of parcels of wine that will deliver above average returns over time
- Interesting bottle formats, such as magnums and jeroboams
Each and every wine from a Chateau has a finite production and as consumption begins, the supply of each wine will diminish. This will lead to an increase in price for the best wines. Therefore gains generated by the growth in value will be taken to create liquidity. This will provide funds for new acquisitions. Andy and Robert Lench's blend of wine, financial services knowledge and experience will prove invaluable in seeking out the wines and generating liquidity.
The aim of the Fund Manager will be to ‘top slice' - retaining some of each parcel. This will very often ensure that the remaining wine is ‘in for free' as the purchase price has effectively been recouped.
